Sorok Uni Foundation have a rigorous and well thought out rehabiliation program for families living on the streets in the Philippines. Not only do they provide housing, food and healthcare but they have a reintegration program which allows families to become self sustainable and get off the streets for good.
For years, Marvin and Leonor Ele and their four children lived a life of constant uncertainty on the streets of Manila. They slept in abandoned buildings, washed in church restrooms, and sold small goods just to survive. Behind their resilience were deeper struggles — Marvin carried years of trauma, while Leonor battled depression after losing their first child.
Their turning point came in October 2025, when the Sorok Uni Foundation welcomed them into Project New Life, offering a safe home, healthcare, psychosocial support, and a path toward stability. In Sorok Uni Village, the family finally found the compassion and structure they had long needed.
Today, Marvin works as a community farmer, and Leonor participates in livelihood programmes that help sustain their household. Their children — once frequently ill and out of school — now attend classes consistently and thrive in a stable environment.
With guidance and support, the family has rebuilt trust, confidence, and hope. “It’s more than a house — it’s a second chance,” Marvin says proudly.
