Children in Informal settlements, Bolivia
Help Bolivia established community centres in the impoverished area of El Alto where they provide children with educational tutoring, psychological counselling, healthcare and nutrition support. They also provide livelihoods training and mentoring to parents to uplift these communities.
Megan is the eldest of three children in a loving but humble family. Bright, affectionate, and full of life, she fills every space with energy — singing, dancing, and acting with confidence well beyond her years. She is deeply proud of her Indigenous Aymara heritage, often speaking about the beauty of traditional cholita dresses and carrying her culture with joy and dignity.
At the centre, Megan truly shines. She eagerly attends the Saturday program, where she finds friendship, encouragement, and a safe place to grow. As a member of the Villa Ingenio dance group, she expresses herself freely and shows natural leadership among her peers. Megan carries a quiet strength and promise that hints at a bright and hopeful future.
